With change always just around the corner, it’s only natural that our thoughts turn to learning styles.

When it comes to learning style assessments, a number of assessments stand out.

We include one assessment that is both fun and effective.

Instructions:

In this assessment, you will answer a series of questions to help identify your preferred learning style.

Read each question carefully and select the option that best describes your learning preferences.

There are no right or wrong answers; the goal is to gain insight into your individual learning style.

Part 1: Visual Learner

  1. When learning new information, do you prefer:
    a) Watching videos or demonstrations.
    b) Listening to audio recordings or lectures.
    c) Engaging in hands-on activities or experiments.
  2. How do you remember things best?
    a) By creating mind maps, diagrams, or charts.
    b) Through verbal repetition or discussing with others.
    c) By physically doing or practicing the task.
  3. In a new environment, do you tend to:
    a) Rely on maps, landmarks, or visual cues to navigate.
    b) Ask for directions or listen to verbal instructions.
    c) Prefer to explore and figure things out on your own.

Part 2: Auditory Learner

  1. When learning new information, do you prefer:
    a) Listening to audio recordings or lectures.
    b) Reading and taking notes from textbooks or written materials.
    c) Engaging in group discussions or conversations.
  2. How do you remember things best?
    a) By repeating information out loud or discussing it with others.
    b) Through visual aids like charts or graphs.
    c) By physically doing or practicing the task.
  3. When studying, do you find it helpful to:
    a) Read aloud or use text-to-speech tools.
    b) Visualize concepts in your mind.
    c) Take breaks and engage in discussions with peers.

Part 3: Kinesthetic Learner

  1. When learning new information, do you prefer:
    a) Engaging in hands-on activities or experiments.
    b) Listening to audio recordings or lectures.
    c) Reading and taking notes from textbooks or written materials.
  2. How do you remember things best?
    a) By physically doing or practicing the task.
    b) Through verbal repetition or discussing with others.
    c) By creating mind maps, diagrams, or charts.
  3. In a new environment, do you tend to:
    a) Prefer to explore and figure things out on your own.
    b) Ask for directions or listen to verbal instructions.
    c) Rely on maps, landmarks, or visual cues to navigate.

Scoring: Assign one point for each response in each section that corresponds to your preferred learning style (Visual, Auditory, or Kinesthetic).

The style with the highest score indicates your dominant learning style.

Keep in mind that most people have a combination of learning styles, and the assessment is just a guide to understanding your preferences.
