Our history.

Oak Innovation began in 1995 with a mission: to inspire and enable development with affordable, editable, and practical training course material.

We’re challenging how we do things and how we can do more for our customers. We want to highlight that a company can be successful, and still offer affordable solutions.

Every business starts with a problem. Ours was simple: pre-written training course material is too expensive.

Our two founders were professional trainers and often needed training content in a hurry. The cost of getting this material was so high, and the time needed to develop the content from scratch was so long, that it meant opportunities were often lost. Never a good situation.

The cause of this situation was simple. The training course material industry was dominated by a tiny number of companies pushing high prices and little flexibility.

Oak Innovation was started to become an alternative.

By taking a brave step, creating everything ourselves, we’re able to offer more-effective, more-flexible and more-editable training course materials at a fraction of the price the dominant providers were offering.

We believe that accessing should be easy and affordable.

We also believe that everyone can deliver training courses with the right content.

Our objective is simple: to help those who develop others.

As we strove for innovation, we saw the need for easy-to-deliver training course materials that can be presented in in-person and virtual learning settings.

So we got to work and developed editable training course materials that can be delivered as full-day courses.

With 30+ years of experience, Catherine Fitzgerald, B.A., M.A. is the founder of Oak Innovation, authoring and providing premium and free training packages to businesses and corporate trainers worldwide. 

Catherine Fitzgerald became the CEO of Oak Innovation in 2012.

As the founder and chief executive, Catherine Fitzgerald is one of the most recognized and respected authorities in professional development and training circles. Under her leadership, Oak Innovation has grown to be the leading provider of training course materials used by thousands of companies worldwide.

Catherine received her Bachelor’s degree and Masters In Health Promotion from University College Cork. Catherine holds qualifications in Professional Development And Training from University College Galway and is completing a second Master’s in Trauma Studies from University College Cork in partnership with Queen’s University Belfast and the Wave Trauma Centre in Northern Ireland. Since 1995, clients include Apple, Time Warner, and Harvard University.
